Gurugram-based AiDash has secured access to high-resolution satellite imagery from Albedo's upcoming Clarity-1 satellite, which is set to launch in February 2025[1][4][5]. Clarity-1 will offer 10-centimeter-per-pixel resolution, significantly higher than current commercial satellite imagery[5].

AiDash, an enterprise SaaS company that helps critical infrastructure industries become more climate resilient, is among Albedo's first seven customers to reserve tasking time on Clarity-1[1][4]. The startup will leverage Albedo's ultra-high resolution imagery to mitigate risks and impacts of disasters like storms and wildfires[1].

Clarity-1 is part of Albedo's plan to build a constellation of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites that can collect imagery at a resolution previously only possible from drones and planes[1]. The satellite will fly at an altitude lower than traditional LEO satellites, enabling its unprecedented resolution[1][2].

Albedo has already sold a significant portion of Clarity-1's imaging capacity, with the continental US, the top seller, having about 26% availability remaining[2]. The company has a set number of images it can collect between Clarity-1's launch in 2025 and mid-2027, when it plans to start building out its full constellation[2].

Clarity-1's customers span various sectors, including mining, geology, energy grids, and climate science[1][2]. Open Grid Europe, Germany's largest gas transmission grid operator, will use Albedo's imagery as the first space-based component of its pipeline monitoring fleet[1].

With Clarity-1, Albedo aims to unlock a new era of insights and applications by providing ultra-high resolution satellite imagery at competitive prices[1][5]. The startup's unique satellite design and low-altitude orbit enable it to offer 10-cm per pixel imagery at significantly lower costs compared to traditional satellite operators[5].
