## Brave CoBRA Commando Shailendra Martyred in Naxal Attack in Chhattisgarh
In a tragic incident, Constable Shailendra (29) of the Central Reserve Police Force's elite CoBRA unit was killed in an IED blast carried out by Naxalites in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday[1][2][3][4][5]. Shailendra, who hailed from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, made the supreme sacrifice while on patrol duty as part of the Road Opening Party between the Silger and Tekalgudem camps[4][5].
The blast occurred around 3 pm near Timmapuram village, over 400 km from the state capital Raipur[1][3]. Naxalites had planted the IED on the route from Silger to Tekalgudem to target the security forces[5]. Along with Shailendra, the vehicle driver Vishnu R (35) from Kerala also lost his life in the attack[4][5].
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed grief over the incident, calling it a "cowardly act out of frustration" by the Naxals due to the ongoing anti-Maoist operations in the Bastar region[2]. He prayed for peace for the departed souls and strength for their families.
The CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) is a specialized force of the CRPF trained in guerrilla and jungle warfare tactics to counter the Naxal insurgency[5]. Constable Shailendra's martyrdom is a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of our security forces in the line of duty.
The nation salutes Shailendra's courage and offers its deepest condolences to his family. His supreme sacrifice will not be forgotten and will continue to inspire others to serve the nation with utmost dedication.
