Did AERO Vodochody and LOM PRAHA sign a contract to deliver new L-39NG jet aircraft?









A contract for the delivery of four new L-39NG jet aircraft for the basic and advanced training of Czech Air Force pilots at the Czech Ministry of Defense was signed by representatives of AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE and LOM PRAHA on November 14, 2022. Additionally, post-warranty equipment or support is covered by the contract. The contract stipulates that the first aircraft must be delivered no later than 28 months after the contract's commencement.






The state enterprise LOM PRAHA is a very important customer for us because excellent experience and favorable feedback from domestic users are always the best references for any manufacturer. We are grateful that the Czech Army pilots will continue their training on our L-39NG aircraft at the Flight Training Centre run by LOM PRAHA, says Aero Vodochody President Viktor Sotona.


"To maintain the continuity of the training of tactical air force pilots on subsonic aircraft in the training centre of the state enterprise, the L-39NG was purchased. The LOM PRAHA Air Training Centre has been using the L-39C Albatros for eighteen years, but they are nearing the end of their technical life. Four L-39NG aircraft will be delivered under the terms of the contract, which also covers any necessary equipment or support after the sale. The state enterprise will also receive ground equipment, initial sets of spare parts and consumables, a flight planning and analysis system, a ground training system, special and high-altitude equipment, survival equipment, initial training for pilots and ground personnel, ground equipment, initial sets of spare parts and consumables. An option to deliver an additional 4 planes is also included in the contract.



The new L-39NG aircraft will be used for fundamental, advanced, and fundamental combat training, which teaches pilots how to use jet aircraft to carry out combat-related tasks. In addition to training pilots from other nations as part of the NATO Flight Training Europe (NFTE) program, which the Pardubice Flight Training Centre has already been certified as one of the first two approved campuses in Europe, the acquired aircraft will primarily be used by Czech Air Force pilots.
