Magnitude 4.4 Earthquake Hits Leh in Ladakh,


An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 struck Leh in the Ladakh region of India on Wednesday, July 03, 2024. The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers and was centered approximately 29 kilometers southwest of Leh.[1] No casualties or major damage have been reported so far, but local authorities are assessing the situation. Earthquakes are common in the Himalayan region due to the ongoing tectonic activity in the area. Residents in Leh and surrounding areas are advised to remain cautious and follow instructions from local disaster management teams.
